The Department of Occupational Safety & Health (DOSH) in Malaysia enforces safe noise levels in workplaces through the Occupational Safety & Health (Noise Exposure) Regulation 2019. This regulation mandates employers to conduct a Noise Risk Assessment (NRA) to identify potential excessive noise exposure among employees. The noise exposure limits as per the Occupational Safety & Health (Noise Exposure) Regulations 2019 requires that no employees is exposed to :

1. The daily noise exposure level exceeding 85dB(A) or daily personal noise dose exceeding 100%.
2. The maximum sound pressure level exceeding 115dB(A) at any time or
3. The peak sound pressure level exceeding 140dB(C).

The primary goals of conducting a Noise Risk Assessment include determining the extent of areas exposed to excessive noise, creating noise contours, monitoring personal noise exposure, and recommending suitable control measures.
